Setting up a happy budgie cage
Space, perches and things to chew. Getting the basics right for small birds.

Cage size
Budgies fly side to side, so choose a cage at least 75 cm wide with bars no more than 1.2 cm apart.
Perches and toys
Varied natural perches keep feet healthy. Rotate toys to keep things interesting.
A first check-up
Birds hide illness well. A check soon after you bring them home sets a healthy baseline.
Due a check-up?
Most pets need one every year. It takes about 30 minutes.
